Cultural History.Located on the other side of the plain to the west of Antananarivo, dominating the Sisaony valley. Antsahadinta is one of the 12 sacred hills of Imerina with Androhibe just nearby. It was the capital of Ambodirano, one of the 4 subdivisions of ancient Imerina. The hill and its wooded valley were infested with leeches at the time, hence the name Antsahadinta "to the valley of leeches
